Beginning Tatting

In this two part class you will learn the basic stitches of tatting along with joining and ending without knots. You will also learn how to join rings and chains. We will be starting with a simple pattern and then progressing to a snowflake pattern. 

Two Color Brioche Class

Felted Jewelry With Embedded Beads

Students will learn how to felt beads in different shapes of settings, make the cord of a necklace and attach the segments. Come learn how to make felted jewelry with a variety of shapes to embed beads into felt. 

Lightweight Nuno Felted Scarf Class

In this project-oriented workshop you will learn how to work with thin and even layers of fine merino wool. You’ll learn how to blend the colors and the silk fiber in the wool before felting. You will study and explore how varying the staple directions and the thicknesses of the layers of wool affects the shrinkage rates and provides us with control in shaping the scarf. Even edge finishing techniques also will be taught.

Felted Slippers Class

Make a custom sized, fitting pair of slippers is a great opportunity to learn how to make a 3-D object starting with a 2-D resist pattern. In this workshop you will develop confidence in planning a project, estimating the shrinkage of the felt, and enlarging the pattern. You will also learn about the different qualities of different types of sheep wool and how to choose and mix the right wool together to get a strongly felted pair of slippers.  

Learn To Crochet

Students will learn how to make the basic crochet stitches of chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. We will also talk about variations of these such as treble crochet and double treble crochet, how the stitches look as symbols when graphed, and the differences between US and UK terminology for the same stitches. Students will leave with a basic granny square
